WESTPORT SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBER EVAN GENDREAU ENDORSES BRIAN SHORTSLEEVE FOR GOVERNOR

BOSTON, MA – Today, Westport School Committee Member Evan Gendreau endorsed Marine Corps veteran, business leader, and Republican candidate for governor Brian Shortsleeve, citing his commitment to increasing local aid and supporting cities and towns across Massachusetts.

“Cities and towns are stuck in a constant cycle of property tax overrides because Beacon Hill isn’t doing its job. Local officials are being forced to go back to taxpayers again and again just to fund basic services like schools, police, and infrastructure. That’s not sustainable, and it’s not fair to our residents,” said Gendreau. “Brian Shortsleeve understands that the state needs to be a real partner with local government. He’s the only candidate in this race who has actually turned around a failing state agency, cut waste, and balanced a budget. He knows how to find savings and redirect resources to where they matter most.”

“As a School Committee member, I see firsthand the pressure our communities are under.
