BOSTON, MA – Today Marine Corps Veteran, successful business leader, and proven government reformer Brian Shortsleeve, Republican candidate for governor, announced that he will be accountable to the people of Massachusetts. As the next governor, Shortsleeve will disclose travel plans along with applying the open records law to the governor’s office.
“Once again, we are left wondering where Maura Healey is and how long she is out of state. Where’s the accountability? Don’t the people of Massachusetts have the right to know how long she will be out of office? That will change when I am elected to the Corner Office. I will publicly disclose when and where I am traveling,” said Shortsleeve.
“But my commitment to transparency doesn’t end there. I will support ending the governor’s office exemption from the public records law. It is time for sunshine at the State House.”
