BOSTON, MA – Today, Marine Corps Veteran, successful business leader, and proven government reformer Brian Shortsleeve, Republican candidate for governor, issued a statement on the resignation of Monica Tibbits-Nutt as Secretary of Transportation.
“It is mind boggling why Maura Healey did not demand her resignation after proposing toll increases and the recent service plaza bid debacle. Healey has failed to hold anyone in her administration accountable for wasting tax dollars and scandals. We need a change in the corner office not just in the Department of Transportation, and this resignation does not satisfy the need for a full investigation into how Massachusetts taxpayers got bamboozled by their own state government into a deeply flawed bidding process that stood to cost them $900 million,” said Shortsleeve.
