After learning that the suspect who shot at vehicles on Memorial Drive in Cambridge yesterday was on parole, Brian Shortsleeve, Republican candidate for governor, released the following statement:
“We have now learned that the man who opened fire on Memorial Drive in broad daylight had been granted parole.
This outrageous act of violence was entirely preventable and the result of a Parole Board and governor who treat criminals like victims and victims like afterthoughts.
When I’m Governor, every member of the Parole Board will be fired. Maura Healey has no right playing politics with our lives on the line.”
