SHORTSLEEVE: “NOW WE KNOW EXACTLY WHO HEALEY’S PROTECT ACT IS DESIGNED TO PROTECT”

BOSTON, MA — Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Shortsleeve today said the revelation that the man who allegedly drove drunk the wrong way on Route 1 and crashed into a Massachusetts State Police cruiser this past weekend was an illegal immigrant is further evidence that Governor Maura Healey’s sanctuary state policies put criminals ahead of public safety.

“Now we know exactly who Maura Healey’s Protect Act is designed to protect, and it’s not innocent, law-abiding Americans.

“It is people like this criminal illegal immigrant who nearly killed a state trooper and put everyone on the road in danger.

“This is exactly why we need to end Healey’s sanctuary state policies and ensure cooperation at every level of law enforcement.”
