BOSTON, MA – Republican candidate for governor Brian Shortsleeve made the following statement today following the news that Governor Maura Healey came out against legislation bringing back happy hour in Massachusetts.
“Opposing happy hour has to be one of the most out-of-touch, anti-consumer positions you can take. People deserve the freedom to enjoy an inexpensive night out without Beacon Hill telling them otherwise.
”I support happy hour and will sign it into law as governor. If we want to find ways to be a state that attracts young people and is more affordable for everyday residents, bringing back happy hour is an easy way to do it.”
