Shortsleeve: Healey Should Not Play Politics With Money for Schools

BOSTON, MA – Today, Marine Corps Veteran, successful business leader, and proven government reformer Brian Shortsleeve, Republican candidate for governor issued a statement regarding Maura Healey’s reversal on money being withheld from the Wachusett High School.

“This was no mistake. The MBTA Communities Act is specifically designed to punish communities, and that’s what Maura Healey intended to do. In this case, she just couldn’t endure the public criticism. The effective efforts of Sen. Durant to call attention to this travesty and rally opposition should serve as a model for all communities who are being abused by this terrible law, which I will work to repeal on my first day as governor,” said Shortsleeve.
