Brian Shortsleeve for Massachusetts BOSTON, MA – Brian Shortsleeve today called on Governor Maura Healey to veto any legislation that fails to provide the full legislative audit authority approved by 72% of Massachusetts voters. Both the House and Senate have advanced legislation designed to undermine the clear will of the people.
“No matter what bill reaches Maura Healey’s desk, she has an obligation to the citizens who elected her,” said Shortsleeve. “Massachusetts needs a governor who is accountable to the people and willing to hold the legislature accountable as well. The governor should have been demanding compliance with the audit the day voters approved it. Any bill that falls short of delivering the full audit authority approved by the people must be vetoed.”
