SHORTSLEEVE: GLAD TO BE ON BALLOT, LOOKING FORWARD TO PRIMARY

Apr 27, 2026

BOSTON, MA – Today, the campaign of Brian Shortsleeve announced that he has officially qualified for the ballot at the Massachusetts Republican Convention, emerging from the convention as the only fully qualified candidate and setting up a head-to-head race heading into the primary.

“We got exactly what we came here to do. We qualified for the ballot, and we’re excited to move forward in a head-to-head race,” said Shortsleeve. “Voters are looking for someone who is serious, tested, and ready to take on Maura Healey. That’s the campaign we’re running, and that’s the campaign that’s going to win.”

“This race is now about making the case to Republican primary voters and showing who is best prepared to win in November. We need a nominee who is stress-tested in debates and ready to prosecute the case against Maura Healey. We need someone who knows how to bring conservative reform to state government because they’ve actually done it. I’ve actually walked the walk, audited a state agency, cut waste and fraud, battled the bureaucracy, challenged the government unions, and delivered for taxpayers. I’ll do it again across all of state government as governor. Onward to the primary.”
