Brian Shortsleeve for Massachusetts Shortsleeve-Oliver the Only Unified Ticket Ready to Lead Massachusetts
BOSTON, MA —Today, Shawn Oliver officially filed his signatures for Lieutenant Governor alongside Brian Shortsleeve, declaring the Shortsleeve-Oliver campaign the only fully unified ticket on the ballot and ready to fight for a more affordable Massachusetts.
“Today is about more than filing signatures,” said Oliver. “Today is about showing who is ready to lead Massachusetts. There is only one unified ticket on the ballot prepared to make Massachusetts affordable again.”
Oliver contrasted the campaign’s organization and teamwork with what he described as dysfunction and political posturing from others seeking the Corner Office.
“Let’s be clear. You cannot run a state if you cannot run a campaign and you cannot find competent people to serve with you,” Oliver said. “I am proud to stand with Brian Shortsleeve and officially file my qualified signatures for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts.”
Oliver said the campaign is built around leadership, unity, and a focus on the issues affecting everyday residents across the Commonwealth.
“Brian and I are running together because leadership matters. Teamwork matters. Vision matters. And unity matters,” Oliver continued. “The people of Massachusetts are tired of disconnected politicians who talk past each other and fail to do their homework while families struggle to pay their bills, communities worry about public safety, and businesses wonder whether they can continue operating here at all.”
Oliver said voters across Massachusetts are demanding leaders who understand the affordability crisis facing families and small businesses.
“Families cannot afford groceries, property taxes, housing, or energy bills,” said Oliver. “Young people are wondering if they can ever afford to stay here. Small businesses are drowning under taxes, regulations, and rising costs. Communities want safer streets and accountability. And residents are asking one simple question: who is fighting for us?”
Oliver also argued Republicans must face political realities if they hope to compete statewide in Massachusetts.
“Massachusetts is not going to elect a pro-life Republican statewide in November,” Oliver said. “We have seen this story before, and it never ends well for Republicans. If we are serious about winning, we need a team that can unite voters, grow the coalition, and actually win — not one that flies around in a helicopter looking down on the people.”
As Lieutenant Governor, Oliver pledged to travel across Massachusetts listening to residents, meeting with local officials, and ensuring every region has a voice.
“Not just Boston. Not just Beacon Hill. Every community matters,” Oliver said. “From the South Coast to Central Massachusetts. From Cape Cod to the Merrimack Valley. From suburban communities to rural towns — everyone deserves representation.”
Oliver also thanked volunteers and supporters who helped the campaign gather signatures.
“Filing signatures is not easy,” he said. “It takes commitment, follow-through, and hard work. But today proves something important: we are organized, unified, and ready to win.”
