Healey Poll Numbers Signal Major Vulnerability Ahead of 2026

May 15, 2026

BOSTON, MA – Today, MassINC released a new poll showing Governor Maura Healey in a deeply vulnerable position with just a 39 percent favorable rating and a 45 percent unfavorable rating. The results follow last week’s Emerson polling, which also showed Healey under the critical 50 percent threshold for an incumbent and growing dissatisfaction among independents with the governor, further signaling that Massachusetts voters are open to new leadership in 2026.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Shortsleeve continues to build momentum as the candidate focused on affordability, fiscal discipline, and restoring common sense to Massachusetts.

Campaign spokesperson Logan Trupiano released the following statement regarding the polling data:

“Massachusetts voters know our state is headed in the wrong direction under Maura Healey. The polling is clear: voters are frustrated with Healey’s failed policies that make everything more expensive, and are looking for a governor who will lead with pragmatism and fiscal responsibility.

“Brian Shortsleeve is the only candidate in this race who can keep the general election focused on Maura Healey’s failed policies and has serious, actionable plans to make this state more affordable, grow the economy, audit all of state government to rein in reckless spending and taxation, and bring accountability back to government. A vote for Mike Minogue is a vote for Maura Healey.”
