Brian Shortsleeve puts Democrat Supermajority on Notice

BOSTON, MA – Following the Democratic supermajority’s vote to only “partially comply” with the voter-approved audit of the Legislature, Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Shortsleeve released the following statement:

“This is smoke and mirrors. The Democratic supermajority should be ashamed. This is not the audit the people of Massachusetts voted for.”

“It is the predictable result of a governor who refuses to hold the legislature accountable and instead chooses to protect her political allies by remaining silent on the sidelines.”

“I look forward to the Supreme Judicial Court compelling the legislature into compliance. And if the audit is not completed by the time I am governor, I will be publicly demanding action every single day until they comply. If they refuse, the voters can replace them with pro-audit candidates who will respect the will of the people.”

“One way or another, what has been done in the dark will come to light. As governor, I will make sure of it.”
