BOSTON, MA – Today, Marine Corps Veteran, successful business leader, and proven government reformer Brian Shortsleeve, Republican candidate for governor announced that Representative Nick Boldyga (R-Southwick) has endorsed his candidacy.
“We desperately need a proven leader in the Governor’s office. The few years under Healey have all but bankrupted Massachusetts. Brian will work day and night to rein in wasteful spending, address the out of control migrant crisis, and make Massachusetts affordable. I am proud to endorse him for Governor,” said Boldyga.
“I am thrilled to have Representative Boldyga join our team,” said Shortsleeve. “Nick has been a tireless advocate for his constituents and a strong voice for accountability and fiscal discipline in the Legislature. Together, we are building a coalition of leaders who are ready to fix what’s broken, protect taxpayers, and ensure that Massachusetts remains a place where families and businesses can thrive.”
Boldyga joins Rep. Marc Lombardo in being the first Representative to endorse in the race for Governor.
“Our team is growing every day. The endorsements of Representatives Boldyga and Lombardo show that we are the campaign with momentum,” added Shortsleeve. “Stay tuned. We have more support building.”
Boldyga was elected in 2010 to represent the 3rd Hampden District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. His district includes the City of Agawam and the Towns of Blandford, Chester, Granville, Huntington, Middlefield, Montgomery, Russell, Southwick, and Tolland in Western Massachusetts.
Boldyga serves as the Ranking Minority member on the Joint Committee on Aging and Independence, the Joint Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Joint Committee on Revenue. He is the Ranking Republican on the House Committee on Human Resources and Employee Engagement. Prior to serving in the Massachusetts House, Boldyga was a member of the Southwick Board of Selectmen and Parks & Recreation Commission. He held previous employment as a Police Officer and was an Auditor for Deloitte & Touche LLP.
